Bill O’Reilly has officially been axed from Fox News. 21st Century Fox, parent company of Fox News, released a statement Wednesday afternoon confirming the massive shakeup at the network. The news follows reporting that O’Reilly and 21st Century Fox had settled multiple sexual harassment complaints against Fox’s top anchor over the years for a total of $13 million. One new claim came just this week.

Regarding O’Reilly’s culpability, Donald J. Trump praised Mr. O’Reilly as “a good person.” In an oval office interview with the New York Times, Trump declared, “I don’t think Bill did anything wrong.”  Trump himself is under scrutiny for alleged sexual misconduct, actions he verified in his own “pussy grabbing” words. Trump’s comments came at the beginning of Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

Here’s what O’Reilly had to say in his own defense…

Statement from Bill O’Reilly:

Over the past 20 years at Fox News, I have been extremely proud to launch and lead one of the most successful news programs in history, which has consistently informed and entertained millions of Americans and significantly contributed to building Fox into the dominant news network in television. It is tremendously disheartening that we part ways due to completely unfounded claims. But that is the unfortunate reality many of us in the public eye must live with today. I will always look back on my time at Fox with great pride in the unprecedented success we achieved and with my deepest gratitude to all my dedicated viewers. I wish only the best for Fox News Channel
